Conflict is a part of life, but violence doesn't have to be. That is the philosophy of the Alternatives to Violence Project, a multicultural grassroots organization of volunteers dedicated to reducing violence in our lives, our homes, our schools, our prisons, our streets and our society.
Around the United States and in almost 50 countries around the world, AVP offers experiential workshops that empower people to lead nonviolent lives through affirmation, respect, community building, cooperation and trust.
Our fundamental belief is that there is a power for peace and good in everyone, and that this power has the ability to transform violence. Learning to transform conflict offers opportunities for greater understanding and deeper relationships.
AVP-New Jersey's experienced volunteer facilitators are available to lead a workshop for your organization. We are committed to teaching healthy ways of dealing with conflict everywhere we go.
